As I was gallivanting off to Chicago to meet up with my friend from Brazil, Back to School efforts were in full force. This “Giving Back Project” allowed me to collect an donate over 100 pair of new shoes and socks for children in foster care and newly adopted families in preparation for the new school year. They don’t always get new things for back to school, so this was a super important thing we could do to help prepare them for the school year and take away some of that stress. I was happy to give a voice to a group of society that aren’t often talked about.
I was BLOWN AWAY by all of the shoes that were sent my way from our Amazon Wishlist, from people near and far. I had to borrow my mom’s SUV to take them all to Advantage Adoptions in Fort Worth, where I was met by so many kind and grateful hearts. I had a wonderful time partnering with them and could easily see the huge impact they’re having on families in the DFW area. Hugs to all our friends that do any and all kinds of social work – it takes a special heart to work in this industry with and for all these kiddos. So kudos to you! ❤
